BCWBN may be right for you if:
☐ You are actively building or growing a business
☐ You value connection, collaboration, and community
☐ You’re open to participating, not just observing
☐ You enjoy supporting other women in business
☐ You want to build relationships over time
☐ You respect shared guidelines and a positive culture
☐ You believe growth happens through consistency and connection
BCWBN may not be the right fit if:
☐ You’re looking for quick sales without relationship-building
☐ You prefer to stay completely hands-off in a community
☐ You’re not interested in engaging with other members
☐ You’re seeking a competitive or transactional environment
There’s no judgment either way — different communities serve different needs. BCWBN is designed for women who want to grow together.
BC Women’s Business Network was born from a simple but powerful feeling: belonging.
In January 2017, after moving to Chilliwack, our founder, Guelda Redman, went looking for a networking community that truly felt right. When she couldn’t find one that reflected how women naturally connect and support one another, she created it herself.
From the beginning, BCWBN was designed with intention. Women network differently. We lead with relationships, conversation, and trust — not transactions. We connect with our hearts, not our wallets. And when women are given the space to truly know one another, something remarkable happens: confidence grows, friendships form, and businesses thrive.
Our meetings were built to feel safe, supportive, and collaborative. We are protective of the culture we’ve created — one that is women-only, business-exclusive, and free from competition or negativity. This is a space where women can show up as they are, talk openly about their businesses, celebrate wins (big and small), and be supported through challenges without fear of judgment or comparison.
What started as a small, in-person gathering has grown into a province-wide community of women who believe in lifting each other up. As BCWBN evolved, so did our name — expanding from a local vision to one that embraces women across British Columbia. Today, we proudly encourage growth in all BC communities and love supporting women who want to create chapters and meetings of their own.
At its core, BCWBN exists to remind women of what they are capable of. In a world where women are often their own harshest critics, this network stands as a place of encouragement, possibility, and belief. We’re not here to sell, recruit, or compete. We’re here to cheer each other on, share knowledge, build meaningful relationships, and grow — together.
BCWBN is more than networking.
It’s community.
It’s connection.
It’s women supporting women — and rising further than they ever thought possible.
For many of us the thought of going to a networking event fills us with anxiety about what is expected. What do I say, Who do I talk to? What if no one talks to me?
Build amazing relationships with like-minded women who you come to know, like and trust. Our meetings are business exclusive, so no competition at the meeting. Our group is full of amazing, supportive, and encouraging women who are there to share knowledge and help each other grow.
By committing as a member you become a constant in our meetings and therefore a constant in our minds. The more you attend, the more you learn and the more relationships you forge. These relationships lead to amazing joint ventures and collaborations where together with other members you grow your network and expand your client-base. Not to mention member pricing.

BCWBN is a women-only business community created to support, connect, and empower women entrepreneurs across British Columbia. We focus on meaningful relationships, collaboration, and encouragement — not competition or pressure. Our goal is to create safe, welcoming spaces where women in business can grow with confidence and support.
BCWBN is for women who own or run a business and are looking for connection, encouragement, and community with other like-minded women. Whether you’re just starting out or have been in business for years, you’re welcome here if you value collaboration, kindness, and growth.
Women network differently than men. We are naturally more relational, collaborative, and heart-led. BCWBN was intentionally created as a women-only space so members can feel comfortable, supported, and understood — without having to compete or prove themselves.
No. BCWBN is not a sales-focused or pitch-based networking group. Our meetings are about building genuine relationships, sharing knowledge, learning from one another, and supporting each other’s growth. Sales may happen organically over time, but they are never the focus.
Meetings are intentionally kept small and intimate, typically under 15 women, to allow for real connection and conversation. Each meeting provides space for members to share about their businesses, learn from one another, and build meaningful relationships.
BCWBN prioritizes:
Collaboration over competition
Relationships over transactions
Encouragement over pressure
Community over comparison
We are protective of our culture and intentionally create a space that feels safe, inclusive, and uplifting for women in business.
We understand that everyone has hard days, and you are always welcome to share challenges. However, negativity toward other women or businesses is not permitted. BCWBN is built on kindness, respect, and mutual support. If concerns arise, members are encouraged to connect privately with leadership.
No. We allow only one woman per business category in each chapter. This ensures collaboration rather than competition and creates an environment where members can confidently support and refer one another.
BCWBN does allow MLM and team-building business models. However, our focus is on business ownership, collaboration, and individual growth, and we do not allow team recruitment in our online communities or meetings.
BCWBN supports women across British Columbia. While we have chapters in several communities, we actively encourage growth in all areas of BC and love supporting women who want to start a chapter and host meetings in their own community.
Yes. If you’re passionate about supporting women in business and aligned with our values, we would love to explore the possibility of a chapter in your community. Chapter leaders receive guidance and support to help create a strong, welcoming local network.
That’s okay. BCWBN isn’t meant to be everything for everyone. If our values or structure don’t align with what you’re looking for, we encourage you to find a community that feels right for you. The most important thing is that every woman has a space where she feels supported.
Members often experience:
Increased confidence in themselves and their business
Strong relationships and friendships
Collaboration and referral opportunities
Encouragement and accountability
A sense of belonging and community
Most importantly, BCWBN reminds women of what they’re capable of — often before they see it themselves.
"Guelda has established a very professional and supportive group of women in business. We empower each other to be the best versions of ourselves. My business is stronger because of the BCWBN!"
