The Community Impact Award recognizes a BCWBN member who has made a measurable and meaningful impact within the network and/or the broader community.
This award honours women who lead with integrity, generosity, collaboration, and purpose — women who actively support, encourage, mentor, and uplift others through their leadership, business, and community involvement.
The Community Impact Award celebrates members who embody the values of BC Women’s Business Network by contributing to the growth, visibility, success, and empowerment of women in business.
The purpose of this award is to recognize and celebrate a BCWBN member who consistently contributes to the strength of the community through leadership, collaboration, mentorship, referrals, support, and positive community impact.
This award highlights women who create meaningful ripple effects within BCWBN and beyond.
To qualify, nominees must:
Be an active BCWBN (Starter/Entrepreneur/Business Growth) member in good standing
Demonstrate consistent contribution to BCWBN through attendance, referrals, mentorship, collaboration, or leadership
Show measurable or meaningful impact within the network or community
Embody BCWBN values:
Women-focused
Kindness and professionalism
Collaboration over competition
Positive and supportive leadership
No negativity
Support the visibility, growth, and success of other women in business
Impact may include:
Referrals generated for other members
Mentorship and guidance offered
Community initiatives led
Volunteer involvement
Leadership contributions
Collaboration and partnership building
Supporting member visibility and growth
Creating opportunities for women in business
Economic or social impact created within the community
This award values authenticity, consistency, and contribution over company size or revenue.
Nominations are open to BCWBN members.
Members may nominate:
Another BCWBN member
A chapter leader
A collaborator or mentor within the network
Or themselves
Self-nominations are welcomed and encouraged.
The Community Impact Award is peer-reviewed.
Nominations are reviewed by a selected panel using the award criteria and supporting application responses.
The review process focuses on:
Demonstrated impact and contribution
Leadership and collaboration
Support provided to other women in business
Alignment with BCWBN values and mission
Consistency and authenticity of involvement
This is not a public voting or popularity-based award.
The intention is to recognize genuine impact, meaningful contribution, and community leadership.
